Crop for Cancer 2009 was held on April 18th in Georgetown Ontario. This was their 7th Annual Crop to raise funds for Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills!

Crop for Cancer 2009 Best Ever
The annual scrapbooking event and silent auction raised $17,903.75 for Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills on April 18th. “With the economy the way it is, we didn’t even set a goal this year. We figured any money raised was better than nothing at all” said one of the organizers. To their surprise, the event was the most successful to date, bringing the seven year total to just under $89,000.
Almost $13,000 was raised in registration fees and pledges gathered by forty scrapbooking participants. After collecting a minimum amount of pledges, the ladies took part in a full day of scrapbooking their family photos with fellow enthusiasts. Top croppers Sherry Steenhuis, Helen Ricci and Peggy Tyrrell were awarded prizes for most pledges collected.
Additional funds came from a silent auction, two raffles, a Dip ‘n Donate chocolate fountain and various games throughout the twelve hour event. More than 100 businesses and individuals contributed to the day’s food, prizes and auction items and many people stopped by the event to lend their support for CAShh.
